Dirk Visser, one of the founding partners of the firm, has practiced IP and media law since 1996 and is also professor of IP law at Leiden University, co-author of the leading treatises on copyright law and neighbouring rights law in the Netherlands and case commentator of the Nederlandse Jurisprudentie. He is a prolific lecturer and author. He was involved in most of the leading cases over the past decades on copyright, database law, trade mark and design law, image rights and neighbouring rights, regulation and liability of online platforms and copyright contract law. His clients include publishers, record companies, producers, broadcasters, manufacturers and designers, retail companies, libraries and archives, trade associations and collective management organisations. He is an active member in national and international associations, including the Copyright Law Association (VVA, part of the ALAI), the Intellectual Property Association (VIE, part of the AIPPI) and the Benelux Association for Trademark and Design Law (BMM).
